The Bronze Age Kelpie is based
on the Celtic cultural art of the
bronze age.
The head is hand carved, based upon the natural shape of the original piece of pinus contorta wood, then given an antiqued bronze finish. The shaft is the same piece of pinus contorta and the ferrule is engraved solid bronze.
A kelpie is a mythological water spirit, a treacherous shape shifter usually appearing in the form of a water horse and tricking it's victims into a ride to their death in the mirky deep.
